Surah Al-Baqarah: Quran-e-Pak ki wo azim surah jis ki tilawat se gharon se shaitaan bhag jate hain aur barkat nazil hoti hai.
بِسْمِ اللّٰہِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ
Introduction
Surah Al-Baqarah Quran-e-Pak ki sab se bari surah hai jo hidayat, aqeede, aur zindagi ke usool bayan karti hai. Is series mein hum Surah Baqarah ko step-by-step publish kar rahe hain taake har ayat ko samajhna asaan ho.
Surah Al-Baqarah is the longest chapter of the Holy Quran. It provides complete guidance about faith, belief, character, and practical life principles. In this series, we are publishing Surah Al-Baqarah step-by-step so that every verse can be understood easily and deeply.

Alif, Lam, Meem.
Ayat 2
ذَٰلِكَ الْكِتَابُ لَا رَيْبَ ۛ فِيهِ ۛ هُدًى لِّلْمُتَّقِينَ
یہ وہ کتاب ہے جس میں کوئی شک نہیں، ہدایت ہے پرہیزگاروں کے لیے۔
Yeh woh kitab hai jismein koi shak nahi, hidayat hai parhezgaron ke liye.
This is the Book in which there is no doubt, a guidance for the righteous.
Ayat 3
الَّذِينَ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِالْغَيْبِ وَيُقِيمُونَ الصَّلَاةَ وَمِمَّا رَزَقْنَاهُمْ يُنفِقُونَ
جو غیب پر ایمان لاتے ہیں، نماز قائم کرتے ہیں اور ہمارے دیے ہوئے رزق میں سے خرچ کرتے ہیں۔
Jo ghaib par imaan late hain, namaz qaim karte hain aur hamare diye huay rizq se kharch karte hain.
Those who believe in the unseen, establish prayer, and spend from what We have provided them.
Ayat 4
وَالَّذِينَ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِمَا أُنزِلَ إِلَيْكَ وَمَا أُنزِلَ مِن قَبْلِكَ وَبِالْآخِرَةِ هُمْ يُوقِنُونَ
اور جو ایمان لاتے ہیں اس پر جو آپ پر نازل کیا گیا اور جو آپ سے پہلے نازل کیا گیا، اور آخرت پر یقین رکھتے ہیں۔
Aur jo imaan late hain us par jo aap par nazil hua aur jo aap se pehle nazil hua, aur aakhirat par yaqeen rakhte hain.
And who believe in what was revealed to you and what was revealed before you, and they are certain of the Hereafter.
Ayat 5
أُولَٰئِكَ عَلَىٰ هُدًى مِّن رَّبِّهِمْ وَأُولَٰئِكَ هُمُ الْمُفْلِحُونَ
یہی لوگ اپنے رب کی طرف سے ہدایت پر ہیں اور یہی لوگ کامیاب ہیں۔
Yehi log apne Rab ki taraf se hidayat par hain aur yehi log kamyab hain.
They are upon guidance from their Lord, and they are the successful.
Ayat 6
إِنَّ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا سَوَاءٌ عَلَيْهِمْ أَأَنذَرْتَهُمْ أَمْ لَمْ تُنذِرْهُمْ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ
بے شک جنہوں نے کفر کیا، ان کے لیے برابر ہے آپ انہیں ڈرائیں یا نہ ڈرائیں، وہ ایمان نہیں لائیں گے۔
Beshak jinhon ne kufr kiya, un ke liye barabar hai aap unhein darayein ya na darayein, woh imaan nahi layenge.
Indeed, those who disbelieve—it is the same whether you warn them or not—they will not believe.
Ayat 7
خَتَمَ اللَّهُ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِهِمْ وَعَلَىٰ سَمْعِهِمْ ۖ وَعَلَىٰ أَبْصَارِهِمْ غِشَاوَةٌ ۖ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ عَظِيمٌ
اللہ نے ان کے دلوں اور کانوں پر مہر لگا دی ہے، اور ان کی آنکھوں پر پردہ ہے، اور ان کے لیے بڑا عذاب ہے۔
Allah ne un ke dilon aur kanon par mohar laga di hai, aur un ki aankhon par parda hai, aur un ke liye bara azaab hai.
Allah has sealed their hearts and their hearing, and over their eyes is a veil; and for them is a great punishment.
Ayat 8
وَمِنَ النَّاسِ مَن يَقُولُ آمَنَّا بِاللَّهِ وَبِالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ وَمَا هُم بِمُؤْمِنِينَ
اور لوگوں میں کچھ ایسے ہیں جو کہتے ہیں ہم اللہ اور آخرت کے دن پر ایمان لائے، حالانکہ وہ ایمان والے نہیں۔
Aur logon mein kuch aise hain jo kehte hain hum Allah aur aakhirat ke din par imaan laaye, halanke woh imaan walay nahi.
And among people are those who say, “We believe in Allah and the Last Day,” but they are not believers.
Ayat 9
يُخَادِعُونَ اللَّهَ وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَمَا يَخْدَعُونَ إِلَّا أَنفُسَهُمْ وَمَا يَشْعُرُونَ
وہ اللہ اور ایمان والوں کو دھوکا دینا چاہتے ہیں، حالانکہ وہ خود کو ہی دھوکا دیتے ہیں اور سمجھتے نہیں۔
Woh Allah aur imaan walon ko dhoka dena chahte hain, halanke woh khud ko hi dhoka dete hain aur samajhte nahi.
They try to deceive Allah and the believers, but they deceive only themselves and do not realize it
Ayat 10
فِي قُلُوبِهِم مَّرَضٌ فَزَادَهُمُ اللَّهُ مَرَضًا وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ بِمَا كَانُوا يَكْذِبُونَ
ان کے دلوں میں بیماری ہے، اللہ نے ان کی بیماری اور بڑھا دی، اور ان کے لیے دردناک عذاب ہے ان کے جھوٹ کی وجہ سے۔
Un ke dilon mein beemari hai, Allah ne un ki beemari aur barha di, aur un ke liye dardnaak azaab hai un ke jhoot ki wajah se.
In their hearts is disease, so Allah has increased their disease; and for them is a painful punishment because they used to lie.
Ayat 11
وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمْ لَا تُفْسِدُوا فِي الْأَرْضِ قَالُوا إِنَّمَا نَحْنُ مُصْلِحُونَ
جب ان سے کہا جاتا ہے زمین میں فساد نہ کرو، تو کہتے ہیں ہم تو اصلاح کرنے والے ہیں۔
Jab un se kaha jata hai zameen mein fasaad na karo, to kehte hain hum to islaah karne walay hain.
And when it is said to them, “Do not cause corruption on the earth,” they say, “We are only reformers.”
Ayat 12
أَلَا إِنَّهُمْ هُمُ الْمُفْسِدُونَ وَلَٰكِن لَّا يَشْعُرُونَ
خبردار! حقیقت میں یہی لوگ فساد کرنے والے ہیں، مگر انہیں شعور نہیں۔
Khabardar! Haqiqat mein yehi log fasaad karne walay hain, magar inhein sha’oor nahi.
Unquestionably, it is they who are the corrupters, but they do not perceive.
وَ اِذَا قِیْلَ لَهُمْ اٰمِنُوْا كَمَاۤ اٰمَنَ النَّاسُ قَالُوْۤا اَنُؤْمِنُ كَمَاۤ اٰمَنَ السُّفَهَآءُؕ-اَلَاۤ اِنَّهُمْ هُمُ السُّفَهَآءُ وَ لٰـكِنْ لَّا یَعْلَمُوْنَ
اور جب ان سے کہا جائے ایمان لاؤجیسے اور لوگ ایمان لائے ہیں تو کہیں کیا ہم احمقوں کی طرح ایمان لے
آئیں؟ سنتا ہے! وہی احمق ہیں مگر جانتے نہیں
Aur jab un se kaha jata hai ke iman lao jaise doosray log iman laye hain, to woh kehte hain: “Kya hum bewakoofon ki tarah iman le aayein?” Sun lo! Wohi khud bewakoof hain, magar jaantay nahi.
When it is said to them, “Believe as the people have believed,” they say, “Shall we believe as the foolish have believed?” Indeed, they themselves are the foolish, but they do not realize.
Ayat 14
وَ اِذَا لَقُوا الَّذِیْنَ اٰمَنُوْا قَالُوْۤا اٰمَنَّاۚۖ-وَ اِذَا خَلَوْا اِلٰى شَیٰطِیْنِهِمْۙ-قَالُوْۤا اِنَّا مَعَكُمْۙ-اِنَّمَا نَحْنُ مُسْتَهْزِءُوْنَ
اور جب ایمان والوں سے ملیں تو کہیں ہم ایمان لائے اور جب اپنے شیطانوں کے پاس اکیلے ہوں تو کہیں ہم تمہارے ساتھ ہیں ہم تو یونہی ہنسی کرتے ہیں
Aur jab woh iman walon se miltay hain to kehte hain, “Hum iman le aaye,” aur jab apne shaitanon ke paas tanha hotay hain to kehte hain, “Hum tumhare sath hain, hum to sirf mazaaq kar rahe thay.”
When they meet those who believe, they say, “We believe,” but when they are alone with their devils, they say, “We are with you; we were only mocking.”
Ayat 15
اَللّٰهُ یَسْتَهْزِئُ بِهِمْ وَ یَمُدُّهُمْ فِیْ طُغْیَانِهِمْ یَعْمَهُوْنَ
اللہ ان سے استہزاء فرماتا ہے ( جیسا اس کی شان کے لائق ہے) اور انہیں ڈھیل دیتا ہے کہ اپنی سرکشی میں بھٹکتے رہیں۔
Allah un se mazaaq karta hai (apni shaan ke mutabiq) aur unhein un ki sarkashi mein dheel deta hai, aur woh bhataktay rehtay hain.
Allah mocks them and lets them continue wandering blindly in their rebellion.
Ayat 16
اُولٰٓىٕكَ الَّذِیْنَ اشْتَرَوُا الضَّلٰلَةَ بِالْهُدٰى۪-فَمَا رَبِحَتْ تِّجَارَتُهُمْ وَ مَا كَانُوْا مُهْتَدِیْنَ
یہ وہ لوگ ہیں جنہوں نے ہدایت کے بدلے گمراہی خریدی تو ان کا سودا کچھ نفع نہ لایا اور وہ سودے کی راہ جانتے ہی نہ تھے ۔
Yeh woh log hain jinhon ne hidayat ke badlay gumrahi khareed li, to na un ka sauda faida mand raha aur na hi woh hidayat paanay walay hue.
They are the ones who bought misguidance in exchange for guidance, so their trade brought no profit, nor were they guided.
Ayat 17
ان کی کہاوت اس کی طرح ہے جس نے آگ روشن کی تو جب اس سے آس پاس سب جگمگا اٹھا اللہ ان کا نور لے گیا اور انہیں اندھیریوں میں چھوڑ دیا کہ کچھ نہیں سوجھتا ۔
Un ki misaal us shakhs jaisi hai jis ne aag jalai; phir jab us ne us ke gird roshni kar di, Allah ne un ka noor chheen liya aur unhein andheron mein chhor diya ke woh kuch bhi nahi dekh sakte.
Their example is like one who kindled a fire; when it lit up all around him, Allah took away their light and left them in darkness so they could not see.
Ayat 18
صُمٌّۢ بُكْمٌ عُمْیٌ فَهُمْ لَا یَرْجِعُوْنَۙ
Woh behre hain, goongay hain, andhay hain — is liye woh wapas nahi laut-te.
They are deaf, dumb, and blind — so they will not return.
Ayat 19
اَوْ كَصَیِّبٍ مِّنَ السَّمَآءِ فِیْهِ ظُلُمٰتٌ وَّ رَعْدٌ وَّ بَرْقٌۚ-یَجْعَلُوْنَ اَصَابِعَهُمْ فِیْۤ اٰذَانِهِمْ مِّنَ الصَّوَاعِقِ حَذَرَ الْمَوْتِؕ-وَ اللّٰهُ مُحِیْطٌۢ بِالْكٰفِرِیْنَ
یا جیسے آسمان سے اترتا پانی کہ اس میں اندھیریاں ہیں اور گرج اور چمک اپنے کانوں میں انگلیاں ٹھونس رہے ہیں کڑک کے سبب موت کے ڈر سے اور اللہ کافروں کو گھیرے ہوئے ہے
Ya un ki misaal aisi hai jaise aasman se zor ki barish ho jismein andheriyan, garaj aur bijli ho. Woh bijli ki karrak se maut ke darr se apni ungliyan apne kaanon mein daal lete hain. Aur Allah kafiron ko gheray huay hai.
Or like a rainstorm from the sky with darkness, thunder, and lightning. They put their fingers in their ears against the thunderclaps in fear of death. And Allah encompasses the disbelievers.
Ayat 20
یَكَادُ الْبَرْقُ یَخْطَفُ اَبْصَارَهُمْؕ-كُلَّمَاۤ اَضَآءَ لَهُمْ مَّشَوْا فِیْهِۗۙ-وَ اِذَاۤ اَظْلَمَ عَلَیْهِمْ قَامُوْاؕ-وَ لَوْ شَآءَ اللّٰهُ
لَذَهَبَ بِسَمْعِهِمْ وَاَبْصَارِهِمْؕ-اِنَّ اللّٰهَ عَلٰى كُلِّ شَیْءٍ قَدِیْرٌ۠
بجلی یوں معلوم ہوتی ہے کہ ان کی نگاہیں اچک لے جائے گی جب کچھ چمک ہوئی اس میں چلنے لگ اور جب اندھیرا ہوا کھڑے رہ گئے اور اللہ چاہتا تو ان کے کان اور آنکھیں لے جاتا بیشک اللہ سب کچھ کرسکتا ہے۔
Qareeb hai ke bijli un ki aankhen cheen le. Jab roshni hoti hai to chal partay hain, aur jab andhera hota hai to kharay reh jatay hain. Aur agar Allah chahta to un ki sun’ne aur dekhne ki quwwat le leta. Beshak Allah har cheez par qudrat rakhta hai.
The lightning almost snatches away their sight. Whenever it gives them light, they walk in it, and when darkness falls upon them, they stand still. If Allah willed, He could take away their hearing and sight. Surely Allah has power over all things.
Tafseer
Ayat 1–2:
Ayat 3:
Imaan wale ghaib par yaqeen rakhte hain, namaz qayam karte hain, aur Allah ke diye hue rizq mein se dusron par kharch karte hain. Imaan sirf zaban se nahi balkay amal se sabit hota hai, kyun ke Allah Pak niyyat ko dekhta hai aur amal ka dar-o-madar niyyat par hota hai. Beshak Allah hamesha hamare samne hota hai, bas hum use pehchan nahi pate. Allah dil ki aankhon se dekh leta hai.
Ayat 4–5:
Imaan wale Allah ki naazil ki hui tamam kitaabon par yaqeen rakhte hain aur Aakhirat par bhi poora bharosa karte hain. Allah unhein hidayat ata karta hai aur kamyabi deta hai. Jo Qur’an par yaqeen rakhta hai aur us se hidayat hasil karta hai, woh duniya aur Aakhirat dono mein kamyab ho jata hai, kyun ke Qur’an mein har maslay ka hal mojood hai — bas hum hi use parhne aur samajhne mein kami kar dete hain.
Ayat 6–7:
Kafir woh log hain jo nafarmani karte hain; chahe unhein daraya jaye ya na daraya jaye, woh imaan nahi late. Allah ne unke dilon, kaanon aur aankhon par parda daal diya hai. Yeh is baat ki nishani hai ke woh hidayat se door hain, aur unke liye sakht azaab hai.
Ayat 8–16:
Yahan nifaq (hypocrisy) ka zikr kiya gaya hai. Yeh log zahiri taur par imaan dikhate hain lekin andar se kafir hote hain. Yeh dusron ko dhoka dete hain, lekin asal mein apna hi nuksan karte hain. Allah unke dilon aur iradon ko achi tarah jaanta hai. Allah ne unki aankhon par parda is liye dala, kyun ke yeh log museebat mein parhezgaar ban jate hain, aur jab Allah museebat hata deta hai to phir gunaahon ki taraf laut jate hain. Allah aise logon ko pasand nahi farmata.
Ayat 17–20:
In logon ki misaal aisi di gayi hai jaise koi andheri raat mein khara ho, ya bijli ki roshni ke baad phir andheray mein kho jaye. Inka imaan beqarar aur dhokay par mabni hota hai. Yeh na Allah ki hidayat ko samajh pate hain aur na dusron ki madad karte hain. Jo log Allah ki nafarmani karte hain, Allah un se naraz ho jata hai aur unke liye duniya aur Aakhirat dono mein azaab hota hai. Lekin Allah Pak jaldi naraz nahi hota, kyun ke woh Rehman hai aur bara maaf karne wala hai. Allah farmata hai: “Beshak meri rehmat mere azaab par bhaari hai.” Is liye agar gunaah ho jaye to dil se tauba aur sachi maafi maangi jaye, Allah maaf farma deta hai.
Tafseer ( English)
Ayat 1–2:
This Surah is the longest in the Qur’anand provides complete guidance for believers. Allah declares that this Book is free from all doubt and is guidance for the righteous. Those who follow Allah’s guidance succeed in this world and, by His mercy, in the Hereafter as well, because this world is the pathway to success in the next life. Allah promises that whoever does good in this world will be rewarded in the Hereafter. Indeed, Allah always fulfills His promises.
Ayat 3:
Believers have faith in the unseen, establish prayer, and spend from what Allah has provided them. True faith is not proven by words alone but through actions, for Allah looks at intentions, and deeds are judged by intentions. Allah is always present before us, though we cannot see Him; He sees through the hearts.
Ayat 4–5:
Believers also have faith in all the revelations sent by Allah and firmly believe in the Hereafter. Allah grants them guidance and success. Whoever believes in the Qur’an and seeks guidance from it attains success in both this world and the next, because the Qur’an contains solutions to every matter—yet people often neglect to read and understand it.
Ayat 6–7:
Disbelievers are those who persist in disobedience; whether they are warned or not, they will not believe. Allah has sealed their hearts, hearing, and sight, showing that they are far from guidance, and for them is severe punishment.
Ayat 8–16:
These verses describe hypocrisy. Such people outwardly claim faith but inwardly reject it. They try to deceive others, yet in reality they only harm themselves. Allah knows what is hidden in their hearts and intentions. They turn to righteousness during hardship, but once Allah removes their difficulties, they return to sin. Allah does not love such behavior.
Ayat 17–20:
They are compared to people standing in darkness or those who, after a flash of lightning, are lost again in the dark. Their faith is unstable and deceptive. They neither understand Allah’s guidance nor help others. Those who disobey Allah face punishment in both this world and the Hereafter. However, Allah is Most Merciful and does not become angry quickly. He says that His mercy outweighs His punishment. Therefore, if someone commits a sin but sincerely repents, Allah forgives.

🔹 Dil Ki Baat
Is Surah ki pehli 20 ayaat humein yeh samjhati hain ke imaan sirf zaban se nahi, balkay amal se hota hai. Dil se sachcha imaan lana aur Allah ki hidayat par chalna sab se zyada zaroori hai. Nifaq aur dhoka insaan ko andar se khokhla kar deta hai, aur asli hidayat sirf Allah ke paas hoti hai.
Islam par amal karna asal mein mushkil nahi — hum ne khud isay mushkil bana liya hai. Meri apne tamam pyare viewers se dil se darkhwast hai: namaz ki pabandi karein, Qur’an ko parhein aur us par yaqeen rakhein. Yaqeen maanain, aap ki zindagi badal jaye gi.
Mera Allah bohat pyara aur bohat Rehman hai. Us se rabta jorain, us se maangein — woh har cheez dene par Qadir hai, aur deta bhi hai, be-hisab deta hai. Aaj kal hamari zindagi is liye mushkil hoti ja rahi hai kyun ke hum Allah, us ke Rasool ﷺ, Sahaba aur Auliya se door hotay ja rahe hain.
Hum sab gunahgaar hain, lekin yeh na sochain ke Allah humein maaf nahi kare ga. Allah zaroor maaf farma deta hai — bas ek baar sachay dil se tauba karein aur koshish karein ke dobara woh gunah na ho. Agar phir bhi ho jaye, to mayoos na hon: dobara maafi maangein, baar baar maangein, aur Allah Pak se dua karein:
“Ya Allah, mujhe is gunah ki aadat se nikaal de.”
Phir dekhein Allah kaise aap ko us gunah se nikaal deta hai. Bas Allah par poora yaqeen rakhein.
Agar meri kisi baat se kisi ka dil dukha ho to main dil se maafi chahti hoon. Allah hum sab ko seedhay raastay par chalne ki taufeeq ata farmaye. Ameen.
🔹A Message from My Heart
The first 20 verses of this Surah teach us that faith is not proven by words alone, but by actions. True faith comes from the heart, and sincerely following Allah’s guidance is the most important thing. Hypocrisy and deceit hollow a person from within, and true guidance comes only from Allah.
Practicing Islam is not actually difficult—we have made it difficult ourselves. My heartfelt request to all dear viewers is to be consistent in prayer, read the Qur’an, and place your trust in it. Believe me, your life will change.
My Allah is very loving and Most Merciful. Build a connection with Him and ask from Him—He has power over everything and He gives abundantly. Many of today’s hardships come because we have distanced ourselves from Allah, His Messenger ﷺ, the Companions, and the righteous.
We are all sinners, but never think that Allah will not forgive you. He surely forgives. Just repent sincerely once and try not to repeat the sin. Even if you fall again, do not lose hope—ask forgiveness again and again, and pray:
“O Allah, free me from this habit of sin.”
Then watch how Allah helps you leave it behind. Just keep full trust in Allah.
